Amateur Radio

While the call is a 1980's novice call, I have an amateur extra class license. Some would say that I have a "real" general class license followed by an "easy" extra. Indeed, my general class license was obtained in front of the FCC without benefit of the study guides and question pools that are available today. I must admit that the general code was painful for me, taking three tries to pass. The extra code (back in the fast days) was a multiple guess test and I managed to pass the test by the skin of my teeth. I missed both station's call signs. However, my test taking skills filled in the rest of the blanks and the extra was mine.
